Heading into Winter

This is one of the pictures that I took during a walk that Vicki and I took on Thanksgiving. We saw the snow falling and we had to go outside. This was right about when the snow turned into rain. That's Vicki walking ahead of me. I love this time of year!

This is my Old Barns post. Follow the link for more old barn photos.

Here is snowing a lot today - all day long!I took some pictures in front of French school in the morning.Snow is so beautiful!I have same feeling inside my heart when I see the snow , it's like a purification, something like that,I can't find the right word, but it's wonderful!

This is such a great photograph! I bet it was warm and toasty by the fire. We are lucky if we see a dusting of snow and I hold out hope each year that we will get some!

Hi James,
mi piace molto questa foto del tuo mondo così da vicino... Vicki, il fumo della casa... un attimo di vita quotidiana così lontana eppure così vicina...
Buona serata :))

I love the feeling of able to burn some wood during winter. But these days it is hard to find one when everyone prefers to use gas/oil heaters.

Striding towards a lovely open fire. We see the smoke from it and it looks inviting. Not to me, though, as I'm in Australia and the hot summer is just getting into its stride!

Looks as if taken within a long gone epoche. Impressed. Please have you all a good Tuesday.

Brrrrr. LOVE the red jacket. (Can't be too cold if Vicki is wearing jeans - maybe flannel lined?) The big house looks in great shape. The barn is very picturesque but would be sad for it to collapse.

WV: muddpat - no kidding!

What a great image. The soft earth tones of the misty landscape and almost monochrome old buildings contrasted with the bright red jacket is absolutely fantastic! Once again I get a real sense of time, the present meeting and making peace with the past. This scene makes my mind drift...

Everything is soft and misty with that red jacket wakes up our eye. This is a great photograph.

Vicki's red coat add the final touches to this amazing photo...what a striking composition and the smoke from the chimney adds such warmth. Your processing...wow, it's all so outstanding, James!

Whenever I visit my friends in Ohio and travel to Kentucky, I'm intrigued with the gorgeous America barns. This shot is fabulous. A stunning old barn but it's so made perfect with the smoke and the red jacket. Superb shot.
